Don’t hold your breath waiting for a HD Halo: Combat Evolved re-release as it doesn’t look like there is going to be one anytime soon.
Despite the recent success of PS3’s HD God of War re-releases, it looks like Microsoft haven’t really put much thought into delivering HD makeovers for their older games.
Speaking to IGN, Microsoft Game Studios Corporate Vice President Phil Spencer stated that, “We obviously have a lot of new things going on, so the thought of re-doing a bunch of things is probably difficult to just weave into the overall portfolio.”
Saying that, he didn’t write off the idea, adding that “I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad idea,” and that, “I’m going to think about it from the customer’s perspective, and are we really delivering something of value to the customer at a price that they want?”
Given the ongoing popularity of the Halo franchise, I can’t se this not happening at one point or another……maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the…..ok, so the last bit of the quote doesn’t make sense. You get the idea though.
