News from Japan – PSP dominates the charts and Black Ops reaches No.1

Hardware sales in Japan saw a dramatic rise for the week ending Novermer 21st. Every platform with the exception of the Nintendo Wii and the the poor old PSP Go had a week on week sales increase with the major winner once again the traditional PSP model with the previous weeks already impressive sales of 40,328 soaring all the way up to a mighty 96,601.

Xbox 360 sales also saw a three fold increase in light of Kinect’s launch while I’m sure both the 360 and PS3 sales were buoyed by the stellar performance of Call of Duty: Black Ops in the region.

Debuting at number 1 on PS3 and a solid 7th on 360, it seems Black Ops sales success knows no bounds.
