With recent rumours doing the rounds that Final Fantasy XIII-2 was indeed in development and ready to be shown, all eyes were today on Square Enix’s big press conference in Japan……and bless ‘em, the good folk over at Square Enix didn’t disappoint.
Revealed in video form by Final Fantasy XIII producer Yoshinori Kitase and confirmed to have Motomu Toriyama back in the director’s chair, it looks like all the big hitters from Final Fantasy XIII’s development team will be returning for the direct sequel.
Being developed for 360 and PS3 simultaneously, hopes are high that the 360 version won’t suffer from the same graphical deficiencies that plagued the original. Oh, and did I mention that it’s due this year…..yep, like 2011. Much joy.
Although the trailer isn’t available yet, based on reports from those at the event, it looks like Lightning will be back for XIII-2 (yay) and is now kitted out with some very cool looking armour.
Hopefully Motomu Toriyama and co. can open up the world and pick up the pace for FFXIII-2. If they do, there’s every chance that it could be something very special indeed.
