In a recent interview with popular Japanese gaming magazine, Dengeki, Final Fantasy XIII-2 producer, Yoshinori Kitase and director, Motomu Toriyamahave confirmed that the Final Fantasy XIII sequel will not be taking the bizarre J-pop route taken by Final Fantasy X-2.
They have also confirmed that when developing Final Fantasy XIII-2, “opinions regarding the characters, story, and interface were taken in.” I can only take that to mean – towns, exploration, a faster pace and no bloody Hope…………seriously, no more Hope.
Although the cast beyond Lightning is yet to be confirmed, it looks as though at least a few of the original cast will be returning, albeit with, “major, unexpected changes”. So, we could be seeing the welcome return of Snow, Vanille, Sazh, Fang and…..uhhhh, that’s it.
After the mixed reactions received by Final Fantasy XIII, it will be genuinely interesting to see how the team at Square Enix approach this exciting sounding sequel.
