PlayStation Plus in July: Strider, Dead Space 3, LEGO Batman 2 and more

Sony have finally released the list of games for Playstation Plus Members for the month of July 2014.

Playstation Plus Free Games July 2014First up on PS4, we have Strider! (PS4) which tells the story of Hiryu, the youngest ever “Super A” ranked agent of an elite corps known as the Striders. Strider Hiryu receives orders to assassinate Grandmaster Meio, supreme dictator of Earth, who has plunged humanity into a dystopian dark age.

Next up on PS4 this month comes TowerFall Ascension (PS4) a frenetic platformer which launched to huge acclaim earlier this year! In the land of TowerFall you engage the noble and brutal tradition of bow-and-arrow combat either on your own or with up to four friends for hilarious, intense versus matches.

Then on PS3, it’s Vessel (PS3)2D action puzzler. Arkwright, inventor of the world famous Fluro (mechanized-fluid automaton) is on a quest to finish his next great invention – The Device – that will alter existence in unimaginable ways. However, Fluros begin to mutate and run amok, and it’s up to Arkwright to understand (and exploit) these strange evolutions.

Next up on PS3 is Dead Space 3 (PS3) fortunately this time you are not alone as Isaac Clarke and merciless soldier John Carver go on a journey across space to discover the source of the Necromorph outbreak. Facing never-more-deadly evolved enemies, the unlikely pair must work together to save mankind from extinction.

Then on PS Vita we have LEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes (PS VITA), can you help Batman save Gotham City from an array of fearsome villains including Penguin, Riddler, Harley Quinn and the Joker? Don’t fear though, this time you are not alone as Batman has drafted in Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern to lend a hand!

And finally we have Doki Doki Universe (Cross Play) where you travel to uniquely themed planets and asteroids to meet some of the most bizarre characters in an effort to learn more about them, and hopefully, learn a little bit more about your character along the way. What’s more, it’s Cross Play so you can enjoy this one on PS3, PS4 or PS Vita.

Now It’s not going to please everyone, especially those of us holding out for a triple AAA title for PS4 and I don’t know about you but in the last 2 months alone I had already previously purchased 7 of the titles that have been added to Playstation Plus in June and July, those being Trine 2: The Complete Story, NBA 2K14Sly Cooper Thieves in Time, Dragon’s Crown, Surge Deluxe, Dead Space 3 and Doki Doki Universe.

Perhaps Sony should implement a credit system on Playstation Plus, whereby if you already own a title listed on Playstation Plus you have a credit on your account to the value of the duplicated game/s you already own or perhaps I should just stop buying them altogether and wait for the lists.
