Top 5 Games of E3 2016

Another E3 has come and gone. Luckily we are left with all the games that were announced to hold us over until next year’s. A lot of games were announced at E3 this year that it’s hard to separate the good from all the rest. That’s why I put together this list. This list is compromised of games that I felt were truly unique, and just stood out from all the rest.

The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

As a huge Zelda fan I had to put this game on the list. Zelda fans have been waiting a long time for this one and it looks like it was worth the wait. It might also be the best one yet. The typical Zelda conventions are thrown out the window this time. Nintendo has been breaking away from the typical Zelda formula in the 3DS games. I am happy that they decided to do the same with this one. The graphics are absolutely superb, true open-world exploration, and fans will have to play through the game to find out the story. This will be the first game I play in 2017.

South Park: The Fractured but Whole

South Park: The Fractured But Whole

This is the sequel to The Stick of Truth and anyone who loved that one is jumping at the chance to play this one. Luckily fans will not have to wait that much longer. This South Park game will be released in October of this year. When I watched E3 this year I was disappointed that many games weren’t coming out til next year. I was also disappointed that many games seemed to be the same, serious and very violent with tons of bloodshed. When I saw the trailer at E3 this year it was a breath of fresh air. Just like how The Stick of Truth poked fun at the world of wizards, South Park: The Fractured But Whole pokes fun at the world of super heroes. A civil war is breaking out among the children of South Park. Whose side will you choose?

I have been waiting for this game since it was first announced at last year’s E3. I am happy that they finally announced at this year’s E3 when we can expect to see it in stores. The game is set to launch in September of this year to Xbox One and PC. It’s the same for every Xbox One game. Just about any game they release you can buy it for PC. In ReCore you play a scavenger named Joule where her only companion is a blue orb companion. Together They embark on a journey across a desert planet.

It has been a long time since I have seen a game come to multiple platforms that wasn’t a Skylander’s game.  Severed is not only going to be a cross-buy title for the 3DS & Wii U but it’s also coming to the iOS this summer. It was released for the PS Vita back in April of this year. Severed is about a warrior named Sasha who is also one-armed. She is searching for her family through a nightmare world. The Wii U version will include Off-TV play, better graphics, new lighting effects, and a new difficulty mode. Severed has already received good reviews from PS Vita owners who have played it.

Skylar & Plux Adventure On Clover Island

Skylar & Plux: Adventure On Clover Island

Set to be released for the PS4, Xbox One, & PC later this year Skylar & Plux: Adventure On Clover Island is a single-player action-platformer. I am always excited to see a new IP especially one like this. It’s a colorful, vibrant, 3D world that is not a survival game. Personally I am so tired of seeing nothing but post-apocalyptic survival games. Skylar & Plux are on an adventure to prevent CRT from turning their home into a wasteland. If you like Crash Bandicoot you will like Skylar & Plux: Adventure On Clover Island.
