Nintendo’s E3 2017 Spotlight featured quite a few surprises — compared to last years awful short conference which only had The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild to show off — and more in-depth looks on games announced earlier this year. Most shocking, a new, core Pokemon game and Metroid Prime 4 are in development for the Nintendo Switch. Kirby and Yoshi are also coming to the Nintendo Switch sometime next year. Nintendo revealed more details on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC, Xenoblade 2, and Fire Emblem Warriors as well.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 opened the show which we got to see an extended story trailer for the Nintendo Switch, which ended with a narrower release date: Holiday 2017.
This trailer featured classic, multiplayer Kirby gameplay. Kirby’s making a comeback — and he’s bringing friends along with him. Kirby will be coming to Switch in 2018.
We only got a short announcement from The Pokemon Company, but we now know a core RPG Pokemon game is in development for the Nintendo Switch. Though it may not release for more than a year, but rest assure the game is on its way so the wait is finally almost over.
Metro prime 4 was officially announced and is currently in development for Nintendo Switch, though no official release date was given. Unlike Pokemon, we at least got a tiny glimpse of what the game will look (and sound) like.
Yoshi is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2018. This short trailer showed off gameplay that featured flipping stages horizontally to access different areas.
We’ve known about Fire Emblem Warriors for a while, but this trailer gives a better look at the world and characters featured in the upcoming hack-and-slash game for the Nintendo Switch and New 3DS coming Fall 2017.
Wield ht Master Sword and don Link’s outfit exclusively in The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim for Nintendo Switch
Since its release back in march at the time of launch of the Switch, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild has arguably one of the best games this year so far for Nintendo, and its about to get even better with the upcoming Master Trials DLC pack that received a proper trailer, which you can see in the video above. It features gameplay from the Trial of the Sword, the new Master Mode difficulty, and plenty of new armor including Majora’s Mask. This pack will be released June 30 this year. Brand new Amiibo of the four champions, Daruk, Mipha, Revali and Urbosa are also being released to coincide with another DLC pack, Champions’ Ballad, which will arrive this holiday. Release dates for the Amiibo were not revealed.
These Amiibo and the teaser for the Champions’ Ballad, featuring everyone’s favorite bard, Kass, are also in the video above.
Rocket league is making its way to Nintendo Switch with not only new Nintendo themed items, but exclusive customization, cross-network play, and local wireless multiplayer exclusively on Nintendo Switch and it’s all coming later holiday 2017.
Super Mario Odyssey received a brand new, extended trailer during Nintendo’s Spotlight, and it did not disappoint. Watch the video below to see Mario transforming into a taxi-cab, a business man, a t-rex, and more, with his magical cap. Super Mario Odyssey is coming to the Nintendo Switch on October 27, 2017.
Nintendo saved this big announcement for its Treehouse Live stream. Metroid: Samus Returns is a re-imagining of Metroid II: Return of Samus, and is coming September 15 for the 3DS. New Amiibo to go with the new Metroid game were also revealed.
That’s all that was presented by Nintendo this year and so far it looks as if they’re just getting started. Nintendo is making a comeback, and seeing what they already have planned for us with the switch now, I can’t wait for what’s ahead with this new system in the come months/years.
