Online Roulette, is inarguably the most popular and played casino game in the world today. Roulette has been around four several decades now, and you can find it almost (if not all) casinos. In fact, an online or land-based casino is not complete without a Roulette table. As a game of chance, you really need guts to bet big on Roulette. This does not mean that you cannot win big by playing Roulette. Some players have won big! Nevertheless, if you are new to Roulette, you need to understand that it comes in different variations. Most online casino sites offer variants like European Roulette, French Roulette, American Roulette, and Mini Roulette. This article is about some of the big names who have managed to beat the odds in the game of Roulette.

Ashley Revell

Ashley Revell is one of the greatest risk takers in the gambling history. Back in 2004, he took his all life saving and set off to Las Vegas with one goal on the mind. To wager the whole of it on the might Roulette wheel. When we say everything he owned we mean his house, cars, watch, clothes, and everything else, of course not his body. The total amount he got from the sales was $135,000, and this is what he wagered. It was a big scene and even media houses covered it.

He placed his whole life on Red and waited for his luck. This was done openly in front of millions of viewers. A grave silence struck the room as the ball wobbled around the wheel. Finally, boom, it settled on 7 Red. With a single spin, Ashley Revell doubled the net worth of his life-saving. He won another $135000. Although other poker players have won much bigger amounts than this, Ashley’s story is worth sharing.

Charles Deville Wells

Can you imagine what you could do if you won 2 million francs (equivalent to $1 047 230) back in 1891? This happened in a famous Monte Carlo Casino Resort. According to sources, Wells won 23 out of 30 consecutive spins! His winning brought every game to a stop. There was no money available at the tables to payout players.

His winning inspired the musician who sang the popular classic hit ‘The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo.’ To many people’s surprise, Wells returned to Monte Carlo for another spin after some time. Like a dream come true, he won over one million francs again! All this was completely pure luck. No signs or forms of cheating were ever found.

Mr. Wells continued with his scams and shined for a long time until he was thrown behind bars for 8 years. He died in 1922 without a single coin on his name. Poor Wells!

Mike Ashley

Mike Ashley is not an ordinary guy. He is a multi-billionaire and owns one of the biggest business enterprises in the world. Among them is the Newcastle United Football Club. In 2008, he tried to boost his net worth by gambling half a million pounds on his favorite roulette game. He did this in a private casino in Mayfair where he wagered on al inside bets including number 17.

If you are familiar with Roulette, this is called ‘complete bet’ and it includes all splits, corners, streets, and six-line bet which includes 17. It is said that he also wagered on other bets like black or red, middle dozen, and middle column. All these won Nike Ashley a cool $1,300,000. This means he won a net profit of $820,000. Ashley is still a successful businessman. He recently purchased the fashion chain Republic and he has helped over 2000 people to get jobs.

Sean Connery

Before becoming a famous film actor, Sir Sean Connery was a casino lover. He had to go through hard labor during his early years to support his family. Back in 1963, he went to a casino in Saint-Vincent, Italy, where it is said that he wagered several times on the number 17.

By the time he was leaving the table, he had won a profit of $27,000. Although not much, his way of trusting the odds changed his life. He dint give after losing on the first and second bets, he persisted and he received his reward.

Joseph Jagger

Joseph is another bank breaker in the history of gambling. He was a British engineer who used to work in a cotton industry in the mechanical sector. He decided to take his mechanical skills to a casino in Monte Carlo. It is reported that he brided six casino clerks to write down all the results of all roulette wheels in the casino for one week.

After studying the results, he noted that one of the roulette wheels was biased towards certain numbers. In his discovery, the numbers 7, 8, 17, 18, 19, 22, 28 and 29 were hit more times than the rest. This is not normal for a normal roulette wheel.

He returned to a casino with his secret and went to the biased roulette wheel. Mr. Jagger won more than $375,000. The casino discovered where the fault was after some time and removed the wheel.

Chris Boyd

Chris Boyd is a programmer, who, like Ashley Revell, took his savings and jetted to Las Vegas. He started looking for a casino that would accept a bet of $220,000, money he had collected in three years. After a few rejections from casino owners, he finally landed one, Binion’s Horseshoe Club, which accepted the offer.

Even though the casino’s maximum bet limit was $100,000, they gave in Boyd’s offer. They also accepted to cover the double zeros (00) on the American Roulette table as the casino did not have the European Roulette table. He placed his bet on red and waited for the outcome. It is reported that the ball landed on a 7 red and won another $200,000. This is the same pocket that changed Ashley Revell’s life too!

The Bottom Line

In our opinion, these were some of the biggest names in the history of Roulette wins. It is evident from the stories that anyone can win at a Roulette table. You follow in the footsteps of these great gamblers and your life could change too.
