Knight Squad Review

I was pleasantly surprised when I played Knight Squad by Chainsawesome Games. I really didn’t know what to expect. What I got was fun, fast-paced, crazy game that you can play with friends. Knight Squad is an arena friendship game where you can play with up to 8 players. There are multiple game modes in which to destroy your friends.  The whole point is to kill others before they kill you.

Each player is a different color knight. There are about 9 different modes to choose from. Each mode has a time limit, can play with up to 8 players, and is insanely fun. The weapons you have available are medieval weapons, laser guns, boomerang, and a bow. Each mode is simple and straight to the point.  You are guaranteed to be killed at least in each mode. Everyone is running around at the same time and you only have one health point.

There is Crystal Rush, Last Man Standing, Gladiator, Domination, Soccer, Capture the Flag, Capture the Grail, Juggernaut, and Team Deathmatch. My favorite mode was Capture the Grail. In Capture the Grail your goal was to get the holy grail in the middle of the arena and take it back to your base. Along the way, everyone is gonna try to take you out in order to get the grail from you. The person with the most points wins the round. In Juggernaut, players are rushing in to grab a powerful minigun. The player who grabs it is the target while trying to take down everyone. Soccer mode is self-explanatory. In Capture the Flag, you are trying to capture the enemy’s flag. If any of the modes starts to get too easy you can change the difficulty to hard. In Domination, is 4v4 in which the goal is to take control of the beacons. Team Deathmatch is all about defeating as many enemies as possible as a team. Gladiator mode is all about staying in the ring as long as possible while killing your enemies. Last Man Standing is self-explanatory. Crystal Rush is all about protecting your team’s crystals.

If you don’t have 8 other people to play with you can always play against the bots. You can also play online, and change the mazes in each mode. Knight Squad is a game you can play over and over again. It is so much fun and fast-paced that it quickly becomes addicting. You will want to play over and over again. It is also very user-friendly as well and not to mention people of all ages can play the game. Anyone can dive right in and start playing.

The controls are simple and each mode is explained. There is no guess-work as to what you have to do. I also loved how colorful the game was. I loved the use of colors in the knights, monsters, and backgrounds. The overall graphics fit the game perfectly.

Knight Squad also came out with the extra chivalrous pack on release, for an extra £3.99, the DLC pack adds more insane content including 4 new game modes (Soul Hunter, Jail Break, Arms Race, Serial Killer) and 3 extra knights (Shiny, Sparkles and Smoke).

Overall, I would highly recommend Knight Squad, it’s one of the best local-multiplayer games I’ve played in a long time and I was pleasantly surprised by the depth and complexity provided by the different game styles. If you are looking for a fun party game to play with your friends then this is the game for you. It’s a simple, fun, crazy, and addictive game that I will keep on my PC for a while when I want to play a fast, fun, PVP type game.
