Left Alive, a new survival adventure from Square Enix, has a PS4 release date

We’re excited to announce that Left Alive is coming to PS4 in Europe and North America on 5th March 2019!

You may be thinking: “The game is called Left Alive huh? I’m guessing I’ll have to… survive?” The answer is a resounding YES.

Left Alive takes place in the fictional location of Novo Slava in 2127 after a devastating surprise invasion leaves the city in smoldering ruins, swarming with enemy troops and towering mechs. Yes, it’s exactly like you’re picturing it in your head. If you don’t have a visual yet, take a look at this:

Left Alive

You will play three different characters with three different paths, all seeking salvation from war that has erupted in the city. As each of those characters, you will have to make difficult choices in your escape that sometimes are a matter of life and death. The choices you make and the routes you take will all have an effect on how the story unfolds.

What does that mean? Let’s say you’re avoiding enemy patrols and trying to sneak your way out of the warzone, but you come across a pair of soldiers that are holding a group of refugees at gun-point. What do you do? You have a few options.

The heroic thing to do would be to take the soldiers out and save the civilians, but that comes at a cost of risking your own safety and supplies. You also have the option to take a more strategic stealth approach, or even to bypass the confrontation in order to not to risk your life or your resources on a deadly rescue mission. Your choice will affect your characters’ story in different ways.

Left Alive

Speaking of characters specifically. We’ll dive into each character’s story and how they were caught up in this war in due time. For now, we can relish in the fact that the look and feel of these characters come from the great mind of Yoji Shinkawa from Kojima Productions (Metal Gear series)!

A couple more things we’re excited to share:

  • The Wanzers (mechs) were designed by Yoji Shinkawa and Takayuki Yanase (Xenoblade Chronicles X)
  • The game is directed by Toshifumi Nabeshima (Armored Core series)

Left Alive

We’re also excited to announce a Square Enix Online Store exclusive “Mech Edition” made up of some pretty sweet items. We’re selling extremely limited quantities of these so you’ll definitely want to grab one if you’re into having awesome, limited things that people will be jealous of. The “Mech Edition” includes:
