From Halo and Gears to Grand Theft Auto and Forza — there are many great first-party and third-party titles available on the Xbox One. This guide provides a list of the best 2020 games you might have missed.

Although the Xbox One might not partake in the same collection of exclusives compared to the Nintendo Switch or the PlayStation 4, it does have some catchy lineups of shooters and racing games to look out for this year. There is also a ton of good stuff from Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Bethesda among others. Depending on whether you are a fan of online games or lengthy single-player arcades with an amazing storyline, we got you covered. Below is a list of the best Xbox One games to look out for in 2020.

  • Apex Legends

If you are a big fan of online Xbox games, then this one for you. Apex Legends, programmed by Respawn Entertainment, is another game competing for the battle Royale crown, and it is very much similar to PUBG. Apex Legends is developed with an idea of a squad, shooting and battling in the Titanfall universe where different teams of three go up against 57 other players. The ultimate aim is to remain the last person standing. The interesting part about Apex Legends is that it’s microtransactions do not give you a competitive advantage.

  • Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on Xbox

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is one of the most recent editions of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. The game is set during the Peloponnesian War. You can play as either Kassandra or Alexios — mercenaries in the world of Ancient Greece who unravel the mystery about their history. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is a brilliant Xbox One game with an interesting storyline that will propel you into the very heart of Ancient Greece.

  • Ori and the Will of the Wisps

This game is not your typical kind of Xbox game. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a direct prequel to the 2015’s Ori and the Blind Forest, which was a commercial success. The story is excellent, the world is breathtaking, and all of that sums it up to a wonderfully made product that thrives both as a performing and combat game.

  • Borderlands 3

Built upon the massive success of the first 2 games in the series, Borderlands 3 greatly widened the scope of the franchise, projecting it from just the planet Pandora to some other locations. This makes it feel very fresh and with a more interesting perspective. The reality is: very few first-person shooter franchises are as massive as Borderlands, talking about world-building, variety of weapons and loot, Goofy humor, and exciting characters.

  • Halo 5

In Halo 5, protagonist Master Chief takes a backseat to Spartan Locke. This newcomer among adventure cuts across multiple planets and features a favorite character in a very different light. It’s a thrilling game full of plot twists, but the multiplayer feature of the cake is what’s exciting. From the classic arena matches to the large-scale Warzone mode, there’s a lot of content in the game to keep you and your friends busy for a long while.
